It's so hard to believe that our little baby Beckett has turned 3 years old. He is such a joy to have around the house. Nana Janie made an interesting observation while watching him last. She said if you look at him with some fun mischief in your eyes, he'll look right back at you with a look that lets you know he wants in on the joke. Beckett seems to enjoy being silly more than Hudson did at his age. He's always up for some fun and goofing around. Oftentimes instigating it himself.

Milestones:
Beckett has really evolved in terms of his vocabulary and dialogue. He is much more conversational with everyone including his toys and alone in his room when he thinks nobody's listening. He is able to count to 10 on command and is very proud to say he's 3 years old. He still has difficulty saying his "R's". If the word starts with R he'll substitute a W and when in the middle of the word he'll skirt it. (example: If the word is "word" he'd say something more like "woyd"). But I'm sure in time it will work itself out.  He let go of yellow blanket "GG" and doesn't seem to be attached to any particular animal (like his big brother still is to his beaver).  Beckett is no longer using sippy cups or bibs and uses a big boy cup instead. We continue to work with him on potty training and recently put a prize chart on the fridge to help encourage and motivate. Things can't move fast enough for daddy.

Beckett still seems to be particular about food. He has always loved protein and still does. His favorite thing for breakfast is fried eggs and he'll eat any kind of meat including shrimp, crab, and tuna. Ironically, he's not a big fan of fruit (unlike his brother). This Summer he started liking blueberries (fresh from our garden) but aside from that he's not interested.

Beckett continues to take a nap during the day. Or rather, we still continue to put him down. He oftentimes stays in there just talking and goofing around (sometimes for 2+ hours) w/o sleeping. Needless to say, the time is more for mommy & daddy to get a break.

Beckett has his 3 year well child doc appointment on Monday. His pediatrician left the clinic so he'll be seeing someone new. Mommy will be taking him and hoping that his shots aren't traumatizing. Beckett also has his first dentist appointment on Monday. Daddy gets to take him to that one.
Beckett started soccer this Fall and plays in the 2/3 division. His team is called the Hot Shots and they're sponsored by Papa Murphy's. Now mommy/daddy get to split their time btw Hudson & Beckett's games which is sometimes challenging (especially when daddy's working). Beckett was a little leery to go out on the field at first but nothing like Hudson. Beckett seems to have a better aptitude when it comes to sports and his own physicality.

We've talked about enrolling Beckett in a 2 day/week preschool but with Hudson just starting school, soccer in full swing and fresh out of daycare we're holding off and will revisit later this year or wait until next Fall.

Beckett & Hudson continue to have a love/hate relationship. Oftentimes they are best buds and within seconds it can blow up and they're hitting, kicking and biting each other. Mommy/daddy oftentimes feel like referees. Beckett loves to play trains with his big brother and use books from the bookshelf to make train tracks. They stack them end to end all around the house. Yeah! (insert sarcasm). Beckett is really enjoying doing puzzles and loves to swing. He's definitely my more physical boy and is in constant motion.

Beckett has leaned out and is getting taller. He's still a toe head and we recently shaved his head in order to treat his cradle cap. It really gives him a different look. I'm ready to grow it out again as he seems to have this strange little bald spot where his hair grows in a strange direction.

We celebrate Beckett's birthday tomorrow and he's requested a Goofy cake which daddy will make.

We love you so much Beckett-boo. You are so much fun to have around the house and give every day an excitement that we wouldn't know without you. We love you so much!
