It's hard to believe our little Beck-a-boo is already two and a half years old. Crazy.
As we could tell from early in the womb, Beckett continues to be a very physical boy. We have several terms of endearment for him including "Beckett the Bulldozer" and "Wreck it like Beckett". He is starting to hold his own more and more with Hudson and oftentimes initiates physical aggression if he's upset with his brother. We do still have incidents where he comes crying to mommy/daddy but it's kind of nice to see him stand up to Hudson.
Beckett's vocabulary is booming but we're noticing he has trouble with particular letters like "L" and "R" so he modifies his language to accommodate. Fire truck is "Fire Fuck". He can say "T" but if it is immediately followed by an "R" sound he can't make that transition. Oftentimes "T" gets replaced with "F" and "L" gets replaced with "W". At this point, instead of saying, "I lost it" he'd say "I wost it". So we're working on his pronunciation and I'm sure before long he'll get it.
He can sing the first few words to "Who put the Bop", "Twinkle Twinkle", and "Rudolph".
He's starting to learn his ABC's and will sing "ABCD....now I know my ABCs next time won't you sing w/ me".
He's identifying all 4 primary colors and can count to 10 (although he skips over 4 and 5).
One of his favorite past times is making a "train track" using all the books off his shelf and lining them up in a row. He also loves to do this with trucks and cars. There seems to be an obsession with trains more so than cars at this point. Probably because that is what big brother is into.
Beckett still loves his yellow blanket and refers to it less and less as "GG".
We're trying to be more consistent with potty training opportunities but so far we've had very little success. We had 1 poo and 1 pee but those were probably freak accidents.
He often pops out of his bed during naptime and bedtime so mommy & daddy have introduced him to the snake that lives under his bed and that when hungry mr. snake may nibble on his toes. This is pretty successful although we have days he seems to forget about mr. snake.
Beckett is getting more selective with his food. He still seems to like proteins, specifically meat but we're having to coax him to finish his plate more and more. Ironically his brother is the opposite.
Goals:
1) Moving away from sippy cups and into regular cups
2) Potty training so we can finally be done with diapers
